The hostel rooms at the college make for a safe home away from home. There are separate HOSTELS for girls and boys and each HOSTEL has a fixed capacity. Students are provided triple occupancy dorm accommodations. They have access to a TV room and other leisure/sports activities within the hostel premises.
Students must occupy rooms specifically allotted to them. They are not allowed to change rooms except with the written permission from the Warden/ Chief Warden. However, students have the liberty to choose their roommates within the first few days, and duly inform their hostel Warden.
Change of accommodation from one hostel to another during the term is generally not permitted.
Allocation of room to a student is subject to cancellation if he/she fails to occupy the room within the allotted time. Students are liable to forfeit their rooms, if they fail to clear all their dues to the hostel by the fixed date and will be asked to vacate the hostel immediately.
The Chief Warden reserves the right to inspect rooms in case of any violation of hostel rules, suspected unlawful activities or incase of perceived security risk.
Due to administrative reasons, rooms allotted to the students at the time of admission are for a limited period of up to one year or less. Residents are required to shift to other blocks/rooms as and when informed by the hostel authorities. Residents shall not change to any other room except with the written permission from the Chief Warden.
Residents who wish to vacate the hostel must meet the caretaker for necessary formalities. Permission of the students′ parents and Head of Institution along with relevant documentation is mandatory during such requests. While planning to vacate the hostel refund rules will be enforced.
Hostel accommodation is intended to improve the academic performance of students by reducing the time for travel. Hence, all the hostellers are expected to perform well in academics.
Ragging is a cognizable offence, punishable under the law and is strictly banned in our campus. Any student involving in any form of ragging will be liable for immediate expulsion from the hostel/college.
Consumption of alcohol, drugs or any other intoxicants are strictly prohibited. Anyone found consuming alcohol or drugs will be expelled from the hostel immediately. No enquiry into the matter shall be required.
Hostellers are expected to be cordial and friendly with each other.
Hostellers should not enter into any unnecessary conversation, quarrel or altercation with the hostel staff and other students. For grievances against any employee of the hostel, a written complaint against the employee is to be lodged with the Warden. Use of abusive, vulgar and unparliamentary language against the hostel/mess staff is strictly forbidden. Serious action will be taken on any complaint received from staff/faculty against students.
Hostellers are expected to leave for college before 8.45 a.m. in their complete uniform, with the identity card properly displayed.
For boys, uniform shirt should be neatly tucked in and they have to wear only a black/brown belt. They should be clean shaven with neat and short haircut. It is mandatory to wear college shoe (Black).
Students should not stay inside the hostel during the college working hours without permission from the Warden.
Students going home/for outing should seek permission from the Deputy Warden concerned at least one day prior to the date through proper channel. (i.e., through counsellor, Class adviser and HoD concerned).
Girls should return to the hostel at/before 6.30 pm and boys must do so by 8.00pm. Students will not be allowed to go out of the hostel after 6.30 pm for girls and 6.45 pm for boys.
The roll call of the hostellers will be made at 7.00p.m. Serious actionwill be taken against those who are absent during roll call without theprior permission of the hostel Warden.
All the hostellers have to makeentriesin their gate pass beforeleaving the hostel. Wrong entry, improper / lack of entry in gate pass,signing on behalf of another person, tampering with the entries, proxyattendance and misguidance of any nature are punishable and will resultin dismissal from the hostel.
Hostellers are forbidden to organize any meeting, collect money for anypurpose, or circulate any notice or petition without priorpermission of the hostel Warden.
Study hoursfor Boys (06.30 PM to 08.00 PM)& Girls (08.45 PM to 10.30 PM). Study hoursshould be adhered to strictly onall working days & during university exams except on weekends. Students are expected to use study hours effectively.
Girl students must hand over their mobile to the care taker at 8.30PMand collect the same the next day around 6.30AM.
All parents of the hostellers are requested to make calls to the Deputy Warden between 7.30 AM to 8.00 PM, except during emergency situations.
After 10.30 PM, silence should be maintained inside & outside the hostel premises.
Under normal circumstances, students should not disturb the deputy wardens during the college timings.
Using mobile phones and laptops during study hours is strictly prohibited and prompt and severe actionwill be taken againststudents who do not obey hostelrules and regulationswithrespectto usage of mobile phones.
No one is allowed to take part in any type of video film show in the hostel premises without the permission of the hostel Warden.
The hostel Wardens have full authority to check any room in the hostel at any time with or without help from local administration.
The hostel rooms are subject to inspection by the College / Hostel authorities to make sure that they are kept neat and tidy and no unauthorized items like liquor, drugs, lethal weapons etc., are kept in the rooms. Possession of any lethal weaponsor any instrument / contrivance, which is/arelikely to cause physical harm to others, is strictly prohibited.
Hostellers are warned not to keep valuable itemsin their rooms. Hostel management shall not be responsible for loss of such valuables.
Unauthorized guests or outsiders/ day scholarsin the hostel room are strictly prohibited. Any student entertaining unauthorized person in his/her room will be liable to disciplinary action amounting to expulsion from the hostel.
Hostellers will not be permitted to stay over at friends/relatives houses without written permission from the parents addressed to the hostel Warden.
No student shall occupy or interchange the room without permission and proper allotment of the room by hostel Warden.
Students should follow the mess timings properly.
Cooking food in the hostel room is strictly prohibited. To avoid fire hazards, no inflammable equipment/substance in the room is permitted.Students should not take mess food to their rooms.
Students should use water and electricity in a sensible manner.
While leaving the rooms, students should ensurethat the light and fans are switchedoff.
Students are required to be aware of all notices that are put up on the Notice Boards.
Damage to hostel property such as doors, windows, electrical fitting, toilet fitting, glass panes etc. will lead to fine, disciplinary action, expulsion from the hostel. A general deduction from the hostel security deposit will be made at the end of the course, towards the breakage other than those, which are charged against the individuals.
The hostellersmust keep their roomsneat and clean.
Each hosteller should check the fittings and furniture in his/her room at the time of occupation and make a written note of the returnable items at the time of vacating the rooms. Any loss or damage will be borne by the concerned hostel student.
College will not be responsible for any public disturbance or Law and Order problems outside the college premises, in which students are knowingly or unknowingly involved.
Two wheelers can be used in hostel after getting valid vehicle pass from college office. For this,a studentmust submit copies of valid driving license, RC book of the vehicle in their name and a letter from parent permitting him to use the vehicle. This will be permitted only on special grounds.
Students shall have to abide by the decisions of the hostel Wardens with respect to enforcement of the hostel rules failing which, strict disciplinary action may be taken.
No permission shall be given to the students to celebrate birthday parties (by cutting cakes) & other festive events inside the hostel premises and invite outsiders in this regard.
Violation of any of the hostel rules and regulations will be considered as serious offence and will result in DISMISSALfrom the hostel without any prior intimation. No excuses and arguments will be entertained.
The belongings of the students would be thoroughly checked at the gate before permitting theminto the hostel. They are requested to co-operate.
